Quilt Challenge: Women, Peace and Security

Quilt Exhibit sponsored by the US Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, with UNFPA, Quilt for Change and the Canadian and Colombian Missions to the United Nations. The theme for this year's quilt challenge was "Women, Peace and Security" in honor of the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325. Ambassador Betty King spoke at the opening of the exhibit, which coincided with the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day.

Courage to Lead Summit: Kruba Kollie, Deputy Foreign Minister, Liberia

Kruba Kollie, Deputy Foreign Minister of Liberia, speaking on Human Rights Day at the Courage to Lead Summit for Women in Geneva, Switzlerand. TheCourage to Lead Summit brought together experienced and emerging human rights leaders from over thirty countries to share and build on their experiences and to promote mentoring and collaboration among women who play a key role in promoting human rights worldwide. The conference is organized by The Eleanor Roosevelt Project of the George Washington University and Vital Voices Global Partnership with support from the US Department of State, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the International Labour Organization. The Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO) coordinated logistics for the event which was held at ILO headquarters in Geneva.
